Michiganders

What is it about Michigan that makes celebrities so eager to tell the world that they grew up here? Probably the greatest example of this is Jeff Danniels, a man who has been appearing on commercials for Michigan since the dark ages.

Every chance he gets he seems to be shouting from the rooftops how great Michigan is. Maybe we have an inferiority complex and think that we need to tell people how great Michigan is, or else they'll never know. Maybe the current trouble at Chrysler and GM has motivated everyone to get out and try to help however they can. Or maybe Michigan is just one of the best states.

Where else can you never be more than an hour from sandy beaches and limitless fresh water. Where else can you camp on a bluff 40 feet above a winding river, and hike for hours without ever seeing a trail. Where else can you live on an inland lake, and waterski until your arms hurt. Where else can you experience the heat of summer, the beauty of the snow, the serenity of the falling leaves and the newness of spring.

Sure, you could probably find those in other states, but the only place that you can get all those things is Michigan.
